Shin-Etsu Trail
A long-distance footpath of a total length of 80 kilometers from Mt. Madarao-san to Mt. Matsuno-yama in the ridge of the Sekida mountains which is the border of Niigata Prefecture and Nagano Prefecture. Now opened 50 kilometers from Mt. Madarao-san to the Maki-toge pass, it is gaining popularity as one of the greatest long trails in Japan.
Joetsu-Kiyosato Hoshi-no-Furusato-Kan Museum
There is reflective astronomical telescope with the 650mm diameter, which is the biggest astronomical telescope in Niigata Prefecture. It is a planetarium that you can experience simulations of constellation and watch the constellation of four seasons. Besides that, information of stony meteorites and the space are displayed.
